Copper HouseList item 4We bought Cobre in 2015, making it our second home in Ibiza. We connected with the previous owner when he wanted to buy our property next door (Casas Ruinas), and we ultimately reversed the deal and bought his house. A year later, property values in this area began to rise thanks to the renovation project. These development plans had been in place for over 10 years, and now they were underway, starting with a major cleanup of the streets below Casa Cobre. This was completed in 2022. In 2016, we carried out some renovations in the VanMaaren style and added copper details, hence the name Casa Cobre. Many have visited before you and had a wonderful time. Be amazed by the view and feel welcome in our copper palace.

Belen HouseList item 2We bought this small, cozy apartment for up to four people in 2018 from a very friendly and hardworking local woman named Belén. She and her daughter had lived in this house for many years. When we went to the notary and presented her with the check, she said she didn't need the money and wanted to reinvest it with us for the time being to help us buy other houses in the neighborhood. This is how she helped us buy the house below. Because she liked the color lilac, we designed the place with purple lilac details.
-
Welcome HomeList item 3In 2018, we bought this place, along with the larger house next door, called "Casa Madera," from a kind, older Belgian man who had owned the building since the 1960s. He completely rebuilt the place about 20 years ago in a strong, high-quality Belgian style, using a lot of concrete combined with a beautiful wooden ceiling and furniture. Because this house is so small, we thought it might be a good place to welcome our guests in the future, hence the name Casa Bienvenida.
-
Wooden HouseWe purchased this spacious 90m² house (plus a terrace) together with Casa Bienvenida. It's one of the houses we rented from 2019 to 2021 to construction workers working on the town hall project to rebuild Calle Alta and Calle Retiro. They are rebuilding 11 beautiful and well-built houses from the 44 largely abandoned houses that were previously there.
-
Maritime HouseThis property was purchased in conjunction with Casa Cobre. A lovely Italian family was already renting it. We offered them the opportunity to stay in the apartment for five years until they found a suitable alternative before the renovation project began.

Antonio's HouseCasa Antonio was purchased shortly after Casa Belén, thanks in part to Belén. The houses are directly adjacent to each other. The previous owner inherited the house from her grandfather. The plan was to pass it on to the next generation, but they lost hope and thought the area would never be the same again. We are currently renovating the house and hope to have it completed by mid-2023.
-
Church HouseA special place...the Ibicencan owner, Luísa, was born in this house and grew up in it and this neighborhood. The house had also been owned by many generations, but this family also lost hope in this area and thought it would never be the same neighborhood again. They decided to sell it to us in 2019, giving us more energy to restore the area to how they remembered it.

Casa MiguelAfter we bought his sister-in-law's house (Case Belén), this kind, respected man named Miguel offered Bernardus his well-preserved home. He wanted to return to the mainland with his family. Because of the trust we had gained after previously buying houses from their family, he handed us the keys and gave us a year to find the money to pay for this special house with a magnificent cave. He lived in Sa Penya for a few decades with his wife, where they raised their children, and are now back in southern Spain. This special place is located on the corner of the narrow streets of the old town. It's a spacious two-bedroom apartment with a cave.

Golden HouseThis beautiful property in Dalt Vila was purchased in 2017. It's located directly behind Dalt Vila's busiest square. It's very spacious and offers stunning views of the town and harbor. We bought it from a restaurant owner in Ibiza who didn't have the time or money to renovate the house. The estimated square meter price for a complete renovation is approximately €10,000. This property is for sale with an asking price of €750,000. It can also be offered as a guarantee or as an investment opportunity. Contact us for more information.
-
Pasta HouseThis studio with a beautiful view from the terrace is small but very practical. We bought this place in 2016 from a Frenchman who worked from home and enjoyed his life in Ibiza. He decided to buy another place in Dalt Villa. Because he was earning money here, we decided to call it "Casa Pasta." Sadly, he passed away a year later and never got to enjoy his new place in Dalt Villa.
-
Lead HouseThis house is connected to our Casa Ruinas and Casa Plata. We had a good relationship with the owner and his father, who was adept at crafting unique, traditional walking sticks from strong wood found only in Ibiza. We were ultimately able to negotiate a good deal to buy the property, and we received some beautiful walking sticks as a gift.

Pink HouseThis beautiful apartment, located in the city center, has a very special story. We bought it from a Dutchman who won the lottery in the Netherlands and used that money to buy this house in Ibiza. Unfortunately, he had to rent out his house for personal reasons, leaving him without a place to live. He wanted to sell his house, but no one took him seriously and didn't believe he actually owned a property. His tenants weren't too happy about visitors in their town and were a bit obnoxious. The owner heard that Van Maaren was buying houses in Sa Penya and came looking for us. He finally found Bernardus, and for the first time, he found someone who believed his story. Because we weren't initially focused on buying in the city center, we were a bit hesitant, but we eventually closed a deal and bought the house in 2017. We made it our responsibility to help the owner with all the paperwork; he had many late payments, and his tenants didn't want to leave the apartment. Ultimately, after some struggle, we were able to find them an alternative location for the time being, and the previous owner reinvested his money with us through Van Maaren and remains one of our trusted and respected investors. We documented this AZ deal on video. Once our masterpiece is complete, we will release the footage of this deal.

Hidden HouseThe owner of this two-story apartment was very difficult to find after closing and abandoning it for about 40 years. A kind young Spanish man who had already bought a house on this street bought it as an investment just before we located the elderly Ibizan woman who had owned it since it was a fishing village. He was kind enough to offer it to us first when he was ready to sell. It has about 60 square meters of living space, with a large cave and a sort of tunnel currently occupied and blocked by a contractor who renovated the house next door about 10 years ago. When we renovate this property together with the neighbors, we're going to turn it into something beautiful. It's located right at the top of the steps of Calle de la Virgin. Because the house is somewhat mysterious and hidden, we named it Casa Escondida.
-
Silvia HouseThis is a fantastically large house in the middle of Calle Alta. It's very spacious and has a beautiful roof terrace. It consists of three apartments. Silvia, an Italian tattoo artist, has lived happily in this house for years. Initially, she hesitated about selling because she felt so comfortable with her partner, but after some negotiating, we reached an agreement. She will remain on the island and close to the neighborhood.

Torro HouseThis house was rented for a long time by Torrete and his family. In 2016, we had the opportunity to purchase it and were happy to take over from the local tenant. It is currently available for rent. Contact us for more information and/or details.
-
Maroquín HouseThis house belonged to an Ibicenco man married to a Moroccan woman. Together they have a lovely family. The area was inaccessible for years. We took on the challenge of restoring this house to its former glory.
-
Casa LíberThis house was rented by Líber and her family. Under Spanish law, tenants always have the first right to purchase the property they live in. We were able to reach a deal with the tenants so they transferred their first rights to us. This allowed us to become the owners of the house. Líber and her family moved elsewhere.

Amazing HouseAfter generations of being in an Ibicencan family, this place was offered to us for a nominal price with just one condition: Bernardus had to promise to make the next generation feel welcome again in Sa Penya by continuing our work alongside the developments the town hall has been undergoing recently.

Clare HouseThis hillside property offers stunning views of Dalt Vila Cathedral from its rooftop terrace. It has been renovated and is in excellent condition. Available for rent.
